Each Character required a starting design that encapsulated their Archetype. Through the course of the game, each character can branch into different jobs/classes so further costume designs were created to represent this.
In later expansion packs released for the game, the same leading characters got the opportunity to try on some of their companions’ most iconic outfits. It was important for the characters to clearly be taking on new roles but to keep their core identity consistent. A new face was also added to the roster.
